14. Symptoms so far

These notes are for use together with the Colley Model.

Having reached this stage of the assessment, there may be some evidence to suspect a diagnosis of bladder outlet obstruction or underactive detrusor. On reviewing the symptoms there may be similarities with the symptoms of urgency urinary incontinence. The difference will be that the patient has a volume of residual urine present in the bladder and that leakage may occur without the sensation to void.
